Principal’s Welcome

It is an absolute honour to welcome you all to the caring learning community that is Cana Catholic School, a Catholic school community where your child will experience a sense of belonging; and be both challenged and supported to reach their potential.

In partnership with families, we build positive relationships to support your child to thrive and exemplify our school motto, ‘Do what Jesus tells you.’

As a Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic School, we aspire to provide a high-quality Catholic education for families in the local community. We proudly model, share and celebrate in the Catholic tradition and aspire to create a safe, welcoming, challenging and supportive environment where students, staff, parents, the parish and wider community are all active partners in our unique journey as life-long learners.

Our staff are committed to providing our students with quality teaching and learning experiences, interweaving learning and wellbeing, to support all students to feel a sense of belonging to flourish to their fullest. Our Catholic school values are embedded into all that we do. We acknowledge and accept the ongoing responsibility to develop ourselves as a community of learners through the spiritual, educational, social, emotional and physical growth of each individual.

Cana Catholic School is a Child Safe School. We have a zero-tolerance policy to child abuse and value the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all students entrusted to our care. There is an expectation that all staff and visitors work together to keep children safe against sexual, physical, psychological and emotional abuse or neglect.

My door is always open, and I value the opportunity to talk with parents and carers. I look forward to working with you in partnership as we aspire to be the school of choice in the Hillside area.
