On Monday at assembly, the school leaders introduced themselves to the school community and then were presented with their badges. You can learn about each of the leaders below:
2025 School Leaders
Our 2025 General School Leaders are:
Eve Azzopardi– Hi my name is Eve Azzopardi and I am so excited to be a 2025 school leader for you all. I want to make sure that year 2025 is full of fun, happiness and joy. Me and my fellow leadership team Christian.B, Mikayla.J, and William will make sure the school will be a happy and fun place. Everyone has a figure in history or in the presence of life. I personally look up to Martin Luther king Jr (who was the american minister and activist. He was also the person that got arrested 28 times.) I also look up to Saint Mary MacKillop. She has one quote that I will always remember, “Never see a need without doing something about it.
Mikayla Jose– Hi, I’m Mikayla Jose, I will be one of the school leaders for 2025. I am excited to work alongside Mrs Bretag , Mrs Vermeulen and the other school leaders. Our aim for 2025 is to make this year as fun as possible and to give all students a voice. My own aim for this year is to be a good role model for younger students and to put others before myself. William Cassar– My name is William Cassar and I am representing you as a school leader. I will be helping to take care of Cana. It’s a big responsibility, but with your help we can do it. Myself and the other leaders are going to work long side you to help Cana be a school of positive and happy mind sets. I’m looking forward to listening to your ideas, and I’ll be the best role model I can be. I am thrilled to show the best of me to all the students and staff at Cana. so, if you have any questions or ideas, share them with us and we will try our best to make it happen.
Christian Biondo- Hello. My name is Christian and I am proud to be one of the four Cana school leaders for 2025. My job is to work with the other school leaders and the SRC’s as well as Mrs Bretag, Mrs Vermeulen and Mrs Cutajar. We will make Cana a happy and positive school with lots of new opportunities. I look up at many people’s footsteps such as Mahatma Gandhi who was always honest and trustworthy and Nelson Mandela who committed to equality, peace and fairness. I also look up to Jesus who was kind to everyone no matter what! Everyone has human dignity. Our 2025 Sport Leaders are:
Father O’Reilly House (Yellow)- Lucas Ferraro and Christian De bono
Hello, My name is Lucas Ferraro and I am one of the 2025 Father O’Reilly sports captains. I will be working with Mr.Cassar, alongside Christian De Bono to help make this year fun for all students. I am honoured to have this position at Cana and have an impact in sport. I also want to be a great role model for the Cana sport community.
Hi, my name is Christian De bono and I my excited to be a Father O’reilly sports captain of 2025 alongside Lucas Ferraro and Mr. Cassar on the yard.I hope that people look up to me as a role model and someone to follow my footsteps in 2025. I will do my very best to help in all areas I can. With my large passion of soccer.
St Joseph House (Red)- Jordan Deleon and Thomas Gillman
Hello everyone, my name is Jordan De leon and I am one of the 2025 Saint Joseph sport leaders. I will be working alongside Mr Cassar and Thomas Gillman to help make this year a fun and enjoyable one, with many new ideas and sporting opportunities. I am honored to take this position and look forward to a great year ahead.
Hello my name is Thomas and I am one of the Saint Joseph sport leaders along with Jordan De leon. We will be working with Mr Cassar and the other sport leaders to create a new sporting environment for all to enjoy and have fun.
St Patrick (Green)- Lana Mussel and Savannah Farrugia
Hi, My name is Lana Mussel. I am one of the green house captains, along with Savannah Farrugia. I am delighted to be working with Mr.Cassar throughout the year. The reason that I decided to take part in becoming a green house sport captain was because I believe that we should let more people try new sports other than popular sports.[eg] soccer or AFL. I would love to become a role model to all students because I believe that every student should be able to stay active.
Hi, my name is Savannah Farrugia and I am one of the Saint Patrick house colour captains, I will be working with Lana Mussel to make sure we work together as leaders. I am privileged to be working with Mr Cassar and Mr Schembri. I want to be a role model for all Cana students and make sure to encourage all students. I will help by setting up sport classes, interschool sports and sport carnivals. My goal is to help all students learn and try new sports. I have a passion for AFL football but I love all sports and trying new sports. I am very grateful for this opportunity to be one of the 2025 sport captains.
St Mary MacKillop (Blue)- Danny Krstevski and Marie Maurice
Hi, my name is Marie. I will be one of the Mary MacKillop (Blue house) sports leaders for 2025. I will be working with Mr. Cassar, Mrs Bretag and all the other leaders to make sports fun and inclusive for everyone. As a sports leader my job will be to encourage Physical education throughout all of the school. When playing sports it should be fun for everyone and not just those who play the sport outside of school. It not about who’s better, it’s about improving. Let’s have an amazing year and I can’t wait to represent Cana and everyone in blue house!
Hi, my name is Danny Krstevski and I am one of the blue house (mackillop) sports captains and I will be working alongside Mr Casser, Mrs Bretag, Marie and all the other sports captains. As a sports captain I encourage the Cana people to play in sports and to make sports fun. I can’t wait to take this role at Cana as a sports captain for blue house. I hope all the Cana people that don’t play sports have fun also the people that play sports. I am looking forward to this great new year. Our 2025 Mary MacKillop Group Leaders are:
Natalie Dalton– Hi, my name is Natalie Dalton and I am proud to be Cana’s Mary Mackillop Leader of 2025. Like Mary Mackillop said “Never see a need without doing something about it”. I want to be a role model to the younger students by making better choices with my actions and words.
Addison Spiteri– Hi my name is Addison Spiteri and I am a Mary Mackillop leader of 2025. It is a privilege to be a Mary MacKillop leader. I am excited to be working with Mrs D’Abreo and my fellow leaders. I will always see a need and do something about it just like Mary did. I will follow in Mary MacKillop footsteps and help students to make better choices.
Valentina Chiodo– Hi my name is Valentina Chiodo and I am a Mary Mackillop leader for 2025. I feel privileged to be a leader and I’m looking forward to work with Mrs D’Abreo and my fellow leaders. I will be a role model for the younger grades, I will always follow in Mary’s footsteps.
Mia Falzon- Hi, my name is Mia Falzon and I am a leader of the Mary Mackillop Leadership group 2025. I am honoured to be a part of this group and work with Mrs D’Abreo and be a role model in school. My goal is to always be ready to help around the school just like Mary MacKillop did in her life.
